Thanos snapped his fingers and in that instance... half of the population of the earth disappeared. There was no distinction as to who disappeared. Now, 5 years later we see that the remaining Avengers have struggled just as much as everyone else. When someone who was stuck outside the known universe reappears with no knowledge of what happened, he ignites a hope that something might be able to be done. That will take bringing everyone together again and that's not as simple as it sounds. A lot has happened in 5 years. The ones that come together do so not because they know what will happen, but because they don't. Once set in motion, there is no going back. Their first objective is clear. After that, it gets a lot more complicated. Realizing the sacrifice ahead, some of the Avengers make tough choices. When the pieces begin to come together, the Avengers as we know them begin to fall apart. It will take something out of this world for their plan to succeed. The question then becomes, is the success worth the cost it will take to achieve it? Those and so many more questions will be answered in this culmination of the previous 22 stories. Is this the end? or Is it simply the beginning of something else? Only time will tell... Either way, this is something that will never be eternal, just as its creator (RIP Stan Lee).

For those hoping for a bonus scene... There isn't one in or after the credits. There is some special content in the opening credits though.
