Starting shortly after the events of Captain America Civil War, T’Chala, The Prince of Wakanda returns home to claim his seat at the throne after his father’s untimely death. He finds himself in a struggle to balance being the Black Panther and also being King of a nation that is tired of hiding and crying out for change. The nation itself, the world of Wakanda that is laid out in front of us is beautiful to see, but it comes at a cost. T’Chala has to deal with all of this as well as some “other family issues” we see unfold. Let’s just say I don’t think anybody envy’s his position at this point. A good man, A King, A superhero, can one person be everything he needs to be for himself and for his nation and to the world? Answering that is no easy task, but once again Marvel pulls it off in spectacular fashion. Killmonger has to be considered one of the best Marvel villains to date with the performance that is given. The performances all around are all incredible, but you don’t expect anything less with the cast given to us. The amount of emotion the characters portray come out and draw you into the character no matter what side they’re on. There are the obvious political and racial overtones in the movie, but when it’s done right, it never pushes you into thinking this way or that way, the truth is just simply that, the truth. Responsibility and family are more at the forefront than any other overtones or agendas. This should leave everybody wanting more of Black Panther and more of what Wakanda has to offer. Don’t believe me, see it and decide for yourself.
