The Italian Stallion… A name synonymous with boxing. He’s had his time in the spotlight, but an opportunity is about to come knocking. That opportunityﾠturns out to beﾠthe son of his most memorable rivals. He agrees to train his new protege, both as an homage to his father and as a legacy beyond the title. Donny takes the instruction that’s given to him, even as it pushes him beyond his personal limits. Night and day he is determined to make a name for himself above and beyond his name. Together they find something in each other that pushes them forward. They each find a reason to fight, each for different reasons. The day comes and Donny must prove himself in the ring. Will he be seen as himself or as a shadow of the past? That you can only answer by watching this through to the end. It may not be exactly what you expect, but you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the series of events that take place. We watched the story of Rocky Balboa unfold through the previous movies and this one almost dared to ask “Did this take it too far?” but it was surprisingly fresh. By itself, it has the merit to stand strong… Being the second big boxing movie this year put it at a slight disadvantage for the awards but don’t let that stop you from the experience. This is one you don’t want to miss.
