Some people build fences to keep people out, others build them to keep people in. That what this story struggles with. Troy has lived a hard life, he has experienced the highs and the lows to extremes. Along the way, he has been lucky enough to meet someone. Together they live their lives, take care of their family and actively participate in their community. Though each of their efforts manifest themselves in different ways. As their son comes of age, he begins to spread his wings. Unfortunately, just as he’s beginning to… His dad clips his wings. Troy’s decision will change their entire relationship and slowly but surely the effect will trickle down through the other relationships in his life. Because of this he finds himself at a crossroads in life and everything in his life could now be in jeopardy. Will he realize what is happening in time to make a difference? This is an existential journey through a life, a life riddled with extremes. Creatively confusing in its presentation, it’s an adaptation of a play and is portrayed as such. Overacted and underwhelming at times, it pushes boundaries and puts up fences around certain situations throughout. Fans of live theater will appreciate this presentation. Others will find it extraordinarily expressive. There is harsh language and a heavy hand with dialogue throughout. A film that many will enjoy but also one that many others will not. Decide for yourself if you want to take a chance. If you do, try to appreciate it for what it is without any pre-conceived ideas.
