The Review

This is a Russian drama that gives us the answer to the question: What is worth fighting for… The answer doesn’t always end up being what we want it to be. This is the story of a man, a man who has lost so much that he can’t stand to lose any more. When a businessman comes into his community and buys up properties to build a factory, he feels like he’s at a loss. He’s the only one who won’t sell and that decision causes a lot of conflict. His life is about to change forever, because of that choice. Is he ready? Who knows… but this isn’t just about him. There is also a wife and son that are part of this picture. Through this story, each of them face personal demons due to that one decision. Who would have thought a single decision could be so powerful? Whether or not he proves himself to be victorious in this vicious fight will remain to be seen. Though this movie has a powerful message, there are many large portions of the movie that leave you wanting more, but not in a good way. Confusion is one word I’d use to describe it. Considering the time and setting for this story, I’m sure it was true to form but for the average viewer, it’s a razocharovaniye.
