Lee Gates is the host of a well known show called Money Monster on a national news network. When one of his picks takes a drastic turn, millions of people around the world lost a lot of money. One person in particular who lost everything is going to face Gates face to face. He uses his daily job to access the studio and holds Gates hostage until he gets the answers he's looking for. Gates will do everything possible with the help of his producer to find the answers he's looking for. As they look deeper and deeper, they slowly uncover something that none of them expected. Then it becomes a matter of proving what they have found, crossing all their t's and dotting all their i's, they work in sync to bring the truth to light. What will that do in this hostage situation though? Will either of them walk away alive? This story will take a twist that you might not necessarily see coming. The question as to who the bad guy is, isn't as clear as it seems. Here we have a story that challenges the ideas of the free market, in doing so it challenges ideas and processes to their very core. Was this movie done for pure entertainment or something more? That's for you to decide. Though it's not based on a true scenario, there are parts that leave you wondering about what really goes on behind the scenes. Should you see this? That's entirely up to you. At least go in knowing that there is more to it than what it seems (then again, what movie is cut and dry). At least it's enjoyable...
