Animals are far more intelligent than what many give them credit for. A certain dog is in the spotlight in this story. Max is a doggie detective with the NYPD, an illegal animal smuggling ring is trading in rare animals, putting the animals at risk. They must be stopped before it’s too late. During a dog show, the trading of a baby panda is supposed to go down. The only way to infiltrate the show is to be show dog. Well, as a street dog, Max doesn’t adjust well to the new setting that he finds himself in. With the help of a few friends, he finds a way to get through the difficult times ahead. The question is, will they find the contraband animals in time, or is it already too late? There are a lot of messages to be discerned from this story. There are parts of this story that may make some uncomfortable but it’s not the focus. Realizing that this particular part of the movie is part of the dog show and not the focal point of the movie is crucial to the enjoyment. Overall this is a very family friendly and light-hearted comedy that will leave you smiling long after the credits are done.
