The Review

Bloody Disgusting! That's this entire film wrapped up in a single phrase. Some college age activists are determined to make a difference. The next item they are determined to rally around is the deforestation of the Peruvian Amazon rainforests. They'll go in, do what they have to do, and get back home before some of them are even missed. After the completion of their task is complete, they face an unexpected problem. This new problem will put them right in harm's way with the local tribe. They're about to learn that's not their only problem though, their biggest problem is yet to come. That being cannibalism... Plain and simple, this is the goriest film since "Caligula". The depictions and graphic nature of this will make even the heartiest of horror fans turn away in disgust. Taking all that into account, this could have had the makings of a powerful movie. Unfortunately, the acting didn't live up to the scenes. Some of the characters were so cold to the camera that they might as well have been reading off cue cards. As a whole, this went way beyond gore and just didn't live up to the hype. If you have an interest in heavily gory films or anything in the idea of cannibalism than there are parts to be appreciated. Anyone else will simply be repulsed...
