Survivors, that’s what the winners of the 74th annual Hunger games are. It was the first time that there was more than just one victor at the end. How did they do it? You’d have to watch the first movie. Surviving isn’t always as simple as life or death. It’s dealing with the memories, the spotlight, the scrutiny! Our two star-crossed lovers have been anything but since the end of the games. That’s about to change though, not because they’ve found interest… But because the victory tour is about to commence. Everyone at the capital and the other districts expect to see the lovers they saw in the games. It’s about more than that though, because some see beyond the lovers to the true story underneath. As they prepare to embark on the victory tour, they each receive a visitor who changes everything. Now it is more than an act they must live it. As the tour commences things don’t go quite as some had planned. As a result of this, the upcoming 75th annual games have a twist. It’s called the Third Quarter Quell and the ones competing are the very ones promised a life of peace. Victor against victor in the ultimate battle for survival. A new arena, new rules, new everything… As the victor’s prepare for this new challenge some surprises shake things up. Unfortunately it doesn’t change the game plan. So some of the victor’s devise a plan, what they cannot realize is how this plan will affect them all. Upon entering the game, there are a whole new set of obstacles. It is everyone for themselves (at least for now). As they come across extreme challenges, they learn who and who not to trust… is it ever that simple? The game continues and one by one the victor’s begin to disappear. When a select few are left, one makes a decision that will change the games forever. When that action is executed, chaos ensues. We see that friends aren’t always friends and enemies aren’t always enemies… Or maybe there’s more to it. As much as the first movie “Hunger Games” felt like a video game, this one equally felt like a revolution. You can’t help but get drawn in. Even with some of the production flaws, the story has merit. The characters/actors are seamless with one another and this is definitely one I would see again.
