The Review

Truly a mixed up mash up, showing us that family can mean just about anything. In this emotionally driven tale, we see four siblings returning home after the death of their father. His last wish was for his family to sit Shiva for seven days (which is interesting, coming from a Jewish-atheist). It's never that simple though. Each family member brings their own baggage. One on the verge of divorce after the ultimate betrayal (it's much more complicated). One is married with kids but is having marital woes due to loving someone else. One is desperately trying to have a child and one just has never grown up. Mix all of this with a mom/therapist/author that has shared the "intimate" details of her family in a best selling book and you get a compilation of raw emotions and comedy. Secrets are revealed, hearts are broken and life unravels but ultimately they find they are stronger as a whole than alone. The situations and comedy throughout are very adult based. Much of the story is based around infidelity, which is disappointing but even through this the characters bring the story to life. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll be perplexed but you'll be touched by this tale.
