The Review

When you hit bottom, there's only one way to go... Up! At least that's what it appears in this goofy sequel. Paul has lost almost everything that means anything to him. When an opportunity presents itself, he thinks life is finally beginning to look up. Little does he know his daughter has a surprise for him too. This new opportunity takes the two of them to Las Vegas and the S.O.T.A. convention. Right from the get go, Paul gets caught up in the moment and makes some assumptions that leave you shaking your head. His daughter, on the other hand, attempts to live her life in spite of him. When a choice she makes leads to a dangerous situation, her dad comes to the rescue. Only in trying to rescue her, he ends up rescuing so much more. Paul's crazy antics and his over protectiveness make him the target of many jokes. Well deserved ones but jokes none the less. I'm glad this was a comedy, though it wasn't that funny... If it had tried to be anything else, it would have fallen flat. The idiocy of some of the scenes and obvious errors made it difficult to watch at times. I admit, I did laugh but it's not one I'd choose to see again. The message that is relayed about family is deep and meaningful and probably the strongest part of the whole thing. Maybe this was 2 too far, but it's applicable to many audiences... If you were a fan of the first, you'll probably enjoy this but if not, there are many other choices.
