Hate is one of the strongest emotions that exists, right next to love. It comes from a variety of places, for different reasons. Is there ever really a need for hate? That's like asking if there is a need for love. That is a controversial view but not as controversial as the story presented here. On the surface, this appears to be a racially charged story (and honestly that is exactly what it is) but there is more to it than it seems. There is a deeper meaning behind what is happening. A young girl has to pretend to be someone else to fit in, which puts her in a difficult position with those at home. An encounter with the police and the consequences of not following directions will turn this whole story into a tragedy. This girl who was afraid to be herself will find her voice and make a statement because of this situation. In trying to find her voice, she turns to her dad. It then becomes something more as she thinks the only way to make a statement is by breaking the law herself with illegal protests, riots, looting, and more. What she'll learn along the way is the power of the message and the power of words and actions. Some might see only the hate, others might see a revolution. The point being that love and hate can exist side by side. That both emotions can cause extreme reactions. What if any justification is there? Stay through to the very end for the real meaning behind the presentation. It'll be worth the wait. Even better than that though is that this creates a dialogue that is difficult for most to even delve into.
