The Banks family has faced many challenges throughout the years. One person that seems to show up when times are the darkest is Mary Poppins. Years ago she appeared to help Michael and Jane through a difficult time in their family. Now that Michael and Jane are all grown up, it would seem that they wouldn't need her anymore. That is partially true, it's actually Michael's children that are in need of her this time around (though they don't know it yet). After a devastating loss leaves the family in turmoil, they find themselves in an even harder predicament. As independent as these children are, they'll soon find that imagination and love can go a long way. Mary Poppins grabs ahold of a piece of the past to bring her to the current. As she begins to reveal things to the children, astounding things begin to happen. Although the magic is incredible, it will take much more than magic and imagination to save them. When the truth behind their predicament is revealed, it may complicate things a bit but a certain friend of the family may be able to pull off a miracle of his own. This continuation of the classic story is a bit different than what you might expect. What it is isn't the Mary Poppins you remember. Mary has her magic but the magic of Mary seems to be lacking. A few unexpected surprises towards the end bring back the nostalgia and feels of the past. It may be Mary Poppins for a new generation, but the original will always be timeless.
