Studying abroad should be the ultimate dream. Allison would soon find it to be her worst nightmare. She would soon find herself the prime suspect in the murder of her roommate. When all of the evidence points to her, Allison finds herself behind bars... all she has left is hope. Her dad and grandma traveled to see her from Oklahoma. When her grandma was no longer able to make the trip, her dad still made the journey to see her and try to keep her spirits up. He was convinced of her innocence and when the law was no longer willing to help, he took matters into his own hands. Roadblock after roadblock, he refused to give up hope. Some of his methods were a bit unorthodox but he got some of the answers he was looking for. Would this information lead to Allison's release? Or did he make matters even worse? How it plays out may surprise you, even though there are ties to a true-life story, this is not a story based on true life (see below).
As this plays out, it certainly seems familiar. The disclaimer in the credits claims that there is no reference to anyone and that any similarity is coincidental. That being said, this has multiple similarities to Amanda Knox's story. So much to the point that, anyone that was familiar with the murder of Meredith Kercher would instantly tie the stories together.
