The Review

There was once a time when the Catholic church determined the doctrine of all of Christianity. One young man, struggling with his own sin, would change the idea of religion forever. Martin Luther grew up as the son of hard-working parents. His father, in particular, wanted Martin to attend law school to aspire to be all that he could. Only Martin was facing personal difficulties and made a choice to drop out of school and become a monk. Even in this position, he couldn't find an absolution to his turmoil. Only in his pursuit of "Biblical truth" could he find any absolution. Unfortunately, this idea went against the teachings of the day. Though that may sound contradictory, it made sense to those involved. What this biopic reveals, is the man behind the ministry. His devotion to the "Biblical truth", even at a price that was hard to pay. This stance that he took, created division amongst many that were associated with the Catholic faith as well as pastors, and clergy around the area. This one man would change how the word is perceived. Much blood was shed along this journey, by supporters and opponents. The presentation of Luther's Life and Legacy leaves the audience in awe. Was he a master or a madman? Decide for yourself. As a historical story, the grace, faith, and presentation demand discussion. Though it's definitely not for everyone, it challenges ideas in such a way that it creates a curiosity that cannot be ignored.
