Christmas is a time for families to come together. The Meyer's are no different, the only thing that is different is that this is the first Christmas without the matriarch of the family. As they come together, they each bring their own baggage. In doing so, it will be a clash of personalities and will. All any of them want is to celebrate the holiday and remember their wife/mother/grandmother/sister. Only it quickly becomes more of a battle between them than a time of celebration and remembrance. Will they be able to find a common ground to unite them before it's too late? Or will they let their personal lives get in the way? This is a heartwarming story about a family that is desperately trying to find itself in the face of adversity. It's almost like a holiday version of This Is Where I Leave You. Some of the humor and language may be a little much for younger or sensitive viewers but that doesn't distract from the message that is delivered. A completely dysFUNctional family drama/comedy that achieved all that it was aiming for and more.
