This movie has a perspective that tells the story of the protagonist intermittently as it unfolds, both during his younger teenage years building his reputation as a criminal and as a young adult transferring into a high-security correctional facility. This method gives the context of his incarceration as the story progresses rather than at the beginning or the conclusion. It's an interesting story and has a few interesting insights on what effect institutionalizing can have on the mindset of the young.
