Fear is something that we all deal with on some level. One of the most common fears is the fear of the dark. What's so scary about the dark though? Is it that we can't see what is or isn't there... Or is there more? This story takes a fear of the dark a step further. A young boy finds it difficult to sleep. His mother has a friend that keeps him up at night. So why doesn't the mother step in? Because of an old promise made. When the boy has nowhere else to turn, he turns to another family member that has been through all of this before. Together, they will try to help their mother and themselves. Just as you think you have this figured out, be prepared for a surprise that will change the rules. This is an unusual suspense film that plays on the ideas of Darkness Falls as well as bits and pieces from other horror greats. That being said, this manages to stand alone without feeling overly repetitive. Though it seems predictable, give it a chance... There are some intense scenes that aren't appropriate for a younger crowd but the rating seems appropriate. Come experience this different look at a primal fear for yourself and keep in mind that you might want to leave the theater with a flashlight...
