There's nothing to be afraid of... Just keep telling yourself that prior to watching it. This remake tries so hard to live up to the original, yet the only ones that'll get scared are those that are afraid of clowns. The story follows a similar path, a family moving into a development only to learn it's dark past. Their children are the ones that experience the phenomena. When help is sought, it is found in an unusual place. The answers they provide will deal with the matter at hand but will leave a mark. There are pieces of the original storyline weaved into this modern version. Unfortunately, this once horrific tale has been reduced to nothing but a wannabe. Part of the acting is overdone, other parts aren't done enough. There are moments of suspense, but they are drowned out by the hilarity throughout. Overall this fails to do justice to the title. Where can they go from here...let's hope they don't even try.
