The Review

Conor Casey has just returned home from the hospital after recovering from a stroke that left him in a coma. The stroke was nearly fatal and has left Conor with brain damage that has limited his ability to function. Conor's family struggles to adjust to his return home, seeing that the man who returns from the hospital is no longer the husband and father that they remember. Conor's behavior during the recovery process is documented by Dr. Ted Fielding. Ted is a neuropsychologist who wants to document Conor for a case study on how brain damage affects aspects of a persons cognition. With an agreement to stay and observe for two months in exchange for financial aid, Ted documents Conor'sᅠinteractions as he and his family attempt to cope with the new social and emotional stress placed upon them by his impairments.

This movie has an interesting plot subject and a likable cast of characters.ᅠThe story does suffer somewhat for its slow pacing. Though the story is lacking in excitement, it does come have a feeling of authenticity in the way the characters interact and cope with the people and events around them. The story seems to lose some of its authentic feel at the conclusion, which seems inorganic and a bit forced. This movie is a good experience overall, though not the best.
