We all know the story of King Midas. The king that is able to turn anything to gold simply by touching it. What if the story we all know is wrong? This different telling of a familiar story makes us take another look. Here we have a family that spends much of its time learning about history. A close friend of the family is an explorer that is always searching for that special something. When he comes across a map and some artifacts, he stores them with the family for safe keeping. Or so he thinks. There are others that are after these items as well. They'll go to any lengths to get them. What is it thatᅠthe map and artifacts lead to... The Midas Box. A box known through legend but not through fact. In this scenario, the box is thought to be something much more than what we know of it. The family is in danger and action must be taken. Will they act in time? Will the box be found? What secrets lie ahead? This unusual telling of an old tale feels a little bit like Indiana Jones meets The Mummy. Unfortunately, it fails to have the appeal of either. There is something captivating about it though, the mystery of it will keep you guessing right up til the very end. Don't get lost in the mediocre pieces in between though. This is a wonderful tale for younger viewers, but many others will find it a bore.
