Bedtime stories are supposed to settle us down and get us ready for bed. This one does thee opposite, it fills you with dread. Being a widow, raising a son is hard enough but with a disobedient child and problems at work... It only adds to the stresses. One night when choosing a bedtime story, Sam chooses "Mister Babadook", much more than a simple story than it seems... It will haunt them and you... Sam is like most children, afraid of monsters. This is one to be afraid of though. As the babadook terrorizes this family, they are pushed to the brink of madness. It doesn't stop there. What they must do next will change everything. This is truly one of the darkest and scariest movies since the original Poltergeist. You'll can't help but watch even when you want to look away. Though it was a low budget production, the plot/story are well defined. You question what is really happening as it's happening right before your eyes. This unnerving and unsettling film is not for younger viewers or anyone squeamish. Be careful the next time you read a bedtime story... It might not be a story at all.
