The Review

This had all the makings of this years "Gone Girl", it might have made it but it fell short in multiple areas. This plot line was very predictible from the beginning. If you had seen any of the trailers, you pretty much know the entire story. There has been a lot of buzz about a big twist, though the twist might surprise those not paying attention. Anyone that pays close attention will be able to predict the plotline. That being said, it wasn't by the fault of the actors. Each of them played their part well, and you could actually become engaged in the individual characters. That just wasn't enough though to save this. It was far from the worst but no where near the best either. I saw it as I see every movie, with fresh eyes. I was hoping for something along the lines of "Fatal Attraction" plus "Gone Girl"... What I got was something that didn't measure up to either. One message that comes through loud and clear, is be mindful of how you live your life. Just when you think you're done with your past, your past isn't done with you. Now if you've lived your life in a way that your past isn't an issue, great... If you haven't, you might want to start looking over your shoulder.
