A true to life story of immigration at Ellis Island. Through history, we've heard the good and the bad from our ancestors. This just gives us a glimpse into the lives of those that went through it, instead of just the stories. We are introduced to Eva and Magda... two sisters immigrating here from Poland. Magda has some health issues and is quarantined. Eva continues but due to some previous issues, she's denied citizenship. She finds someone to help her get into the country. She quickly learns that this person isn't who she thought he was. Her actions over the next days, weeks and months are all done in the name of saving Magda. Just when it looks like she's succeeded, life knocks her down again. She refuses to give up... How will it end? It's not how you might expect... A movie that opens our eyes to life at the time...
