The legend behind the legend of Ninjago is about to be shared with the world. One young boy takes refuge in an Asian curiosities store to escape those around him and maybe find something special. What he finds isn't a what but a who. This person will present the Ninjago story to this young lad, in a way that speaks to everyone. As the story unfolds, we're introduced to the different ninjas. Each of them has a special attribute/ability and they use that against the evil Garmadon. One of the ninjas has a connection to Garmadon that he struggles through. This same ninja finds that he has much in common with the young boy that took refuge in the store. Together, they will all come together and find the source of the strength that guides them all. Though it seems obvious, the answer to that question and how it is revealed is done in a way that might surprise you. Overall, the story is definitely aimed at a younger audience. There are references for the parents to enjoy as well as it touches on some classics (The Neverending Story / Power Rangers / and even Avatar: The Last Airbender). Even with all of the silliness along the way, there is some heart to be found. Is it for everyone? No, but it's for the young and the young at heart.
