Andy Dufresne always believed in justice. That was at least until justice turned her back on him. He was found guilty of a crime he did not commit and sentenced to hard time. His time at Shawshank was filled with extreme highs and lows. Even with that, he found a place to function by trading services for some semblance of normalcy. With this and some new friends, he just might have a chance. Over time, there were little glimmers of light to keep him going amongst the darkness that surrounded him. He didn't ask for much and did what was expected of him. That may have been his key to survival. Little did those around him know that he had been concocting an elaborate plan all along. Though not before reforming some institutions within the Shawshank itself. The old adage that the squeaky wheel gets the grease was something that Andy preyed upon. Using some of the skills he had acquired prior to his time there along with some of the connections he made inside made all the difference. When it was time for Andy to put his plan into action, it would come as a surprise to even those closest to him. Would he succeed and regain what was taken from him or is his fate sealed by the cold steel bars that surround him? So many questions and their resolution can only be understood by the experience.
