The center of the movie surrounds a museum curator, Christian, who is hyping up a new upcoming exhibit called the Square. Once inside this square, you're seemingly obligated to help somebody who needs it, to be a better person. What would you do? Not exactly a simple question because it depends on whatever situation you’re in at that time right? This movie, in general, explores the depth of human response. The whole story begs the questions of what would you do in this situation, fight or flight? How far would you let this go before you act? When is enough truly enough? Where’s the line in this situation and should I cross it? Christopher, in all the situations we see him in, seems to just dig himself deeper with every situation seemingly trying to do the right thing. That’s what you would do here right, the right thing? What is/was the right thing to do here? There are a lot of questions being asked yes, but this movie explores the fact that is there really may not be a good answer to any of them. It seems the point of the movie is to explore the conversation of the events and sequences that are playing out in front of us and ask yourself these questions and talk about what you would do or would’ve done. If that’s the case, it works. Be warned some scenes are a bit extreme and will most likely bring out the uncomfortable in you but at the same time aren’t too far off from reality. Scary huh? Performances are good. It’s a little long and slow at times but worth it...isn’t it? You tell us.
