There's a dark secret in demographic data. What this story does is much more than portraying an incident that is based on real events. It shines a light on this dark secret, exposing it to the world. This is a story of a girl, but not of her life, it has more to do with her death. The discovery set forth a series of events that would forever change the reservation where she lived. When Cory discovered her, he would have to deal with much more than this horrific event. His own past would come back to haunt him. Working together with the local law enforcement (and even an outside source), they begin to follow where the clues. Only the secret is not looking where the clues lead them, but where the clues originated. That may seem a bit confusing, but the story itself will explain more than I can here. This is an intense drama that is not for the faint of heart. Subjects addressed and some of the scenes could quickly overwhelm those who are sensitive to the horrors of the world. Even with that, this is not a horror movie, it's simply the telling of a story of secrets. Something will be revealed at the end that might take you by surprise. All I can truly say is expect the unexpected with this shockingly brutal drama. This is one that can only be experienced to be understood. Just be prepared for what you might experience.
