The man, the myth, the legend... Dracula. There is more to the story than what we've been told... Til now. Vlad the Impaler, a ruthless conquerer that left a trail of blood in his wake. That is at least until he had someone with fighting for. Now don't worry, this isn't a sappy love story. The Turks, true to form with their armies lay siege to all that are in their way. After all, they're just following orders. When the Turks raid Transylvania demanding more than what was agreed upon Vlad takes matters into his own hands. Mere fighting won't be enough so he makes a deal. This deal will bring him all that he desires but it will cost him the ultimate price. Ultimately will it be worth the cost? What will happen next? This is just the beginning, of not just the story... but the legend. The cinematics and graphics are fabulous throughout. The story has its ups and downs, everything from times where it's almost boring, to times where you don't dare look away for fear of missing something. The plotline follows the historical stories of Dracula, with some added Hollywood flare. It's a so-so movie until the end... The ending will wow you and leave you wanting more... I for one can't wait for the sequel.
Dracula untold has to be the one movie that has saved the concept of vampire movies. It gives a very large and sudden left turn to the dracula story and opens up many sequels. The visual effects were astonishing and you really felt the emotion and conflict between Vlad and his people. Though it seemed that the director wanted to throw us into thinking we know whats gonna happen next. I give it a 3.7 out of 5 stars - Jason
