Assuming this movie was to be a follow up to the original "Wizard of Oz", it drastically missed its mark. It is a cute story but aside from the characters and Oz, it has little to do with the original story. That may sound contradictive but it truly isn't. We are introduced to Dorothy and Toto the day after they return from Oz, the problem, they are at least 50 years in the future. There are also some missing family members, Auntie Em and Uncle Henry are present but the rest of the cast is definitely missing. In this Kansas, there isn't an evil schoolmarm, there is an evil inspector that turns the tables on the family. While all this is happening we are re-introduced to the scarecrow, lion and tin man back in Oz as they prepare to bring Dorothy back. Their timeline has not been the same as that in Kansas. The beloved characters that we knew are not the same now. The foes they fight in Oz are different as well (as in never before mentioned). Along this journey though, they all come across other allies and friends that assist them in this journey. Definitely a cute story but justﾠdefinitely off the mark from the original.
