During the summer Olympics in Rome 2004, America needed hope like never before. Little did the viewers realize that their hope would spring eternal in one of the gymnastics contestants: Hope Greggory. Hope had suffered a severe injury in one event yet went on to place in her final event even with the injury. That moment would be cemented in history as America's Hope. Unfortunately, all of that fame went to her head. The talented young gymnast has grown into a self-absorbed brat. Everyone in Amherst loves her but most of America has forgotten about her. She will do whatever it takes to make sure that her name lives on there in Amherst. When someone very close to hope passes away, she is left an inheritance but with certain conditions. These conditions must be met in full before Hope would receive any of the money left to her. The only problem, it would mean that she would have to learn what responsibility is. Seeing the type of person that she is prior to this point, maybe this is expecting too much. Her next decisions will change the outline of the entire program. How will it end? Most movies like this come full circle and leave you with more than you expected. This one manages to take an unexpected turn but falls short of coming full circle. Now that being said, there is a surprise at the end... but if you're paying attention, it won't come as much of a surprise.
