Stephen Hawking, a man, a physicist, a father... There's much more to him than what we know. As a Cambridge student, preparing for the rest of his life, he studied science, physics, and the like but as much as he loved it... It wasn't his passion. When he finally found his passion he was struck down with a debilitating disease. A motor neuron disease which is commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease and given a bleak outlook. He went through extreme emotions while trying to learn to live. The love of an amazing young woman did much to help him. He was absolutely determined to finish his thesis before this disease finished him... His dissertation was on Time. The ideas were some that had never been approached before. That's the whole idea of science, reaching beyond what's known to reach the unknown. He continually dared to keep reaching. As his body deteriorated further it became harder and harder to communicate. Because of others striving to keep reaching, technology reaches new and innovative ways to help him in this area. His voice may no longer be his own but the words are. His ideas transformed science as we know it. He is a husband, a father, a scientist, and more... He was ready to face his own mortality. It is to our benefit as well as his own that he hasn't had to face it yet. Stephen was 82 years old at the conclusion of filming and he's continually striving for more. He's come a long way for someone who was given such a bleak outcome. He has overcome many challenges. His life continues to inspire people. His ideas and theories will forever change science and space. Come see this incredibly encouraging and inspiring film about someone who is equally so.
